FAQs

As the group is still very new, at the moment we meet ad-hoc. We’ll try to take people’s availability into account and vary the days based on feedback.

The local parish has been kind enough to lend us bag hoops and litter pickers. Chris and Carol have provided some high visibility jackets.

We recommend bringing a sturdy pair of gardening gloves. You may think now that you’d never be caught trawling through spiky shrubbery, but when you spot that discarded can of Pepsi Max, you might just change your mind!

Litter picking is an all weather activity, so do wear sunscreen/a hat/waterproofs, as needed.

As we will frequently litter pick along roads and spiky bushes/nettles, and due to the nature of the rubbish we might find (e.g.: broken glass), we would suggest that the current group picks may not be suitable to children and dogs.

We do hope to organise some family-friendly picks in future if local people are interested – let us know!

It all started with our Litter Picker In Chief, Chris, searching for other likeminded people on a local Facebook group. Chris and Carol have also recently raised requests for additional bins in the area which has been amazing.
