Last night was the latest Horton Heath Litter pick. The focus was Botley Road, Blind Lane and Burnetts Lane. 5 of us collected 13 bags of litter and a shopping bag. The bag, found on Blind Lane, contained 2 large sharp boxes (used for used needles) – highly dangerous.
Two of the bags, collected from Botley Road near the Brigadier Gerard pub, were full of Nitrous Oxide canisters which need to be disposed of carefully as they can explode.
This stuff is literally being dumped on our doorstep.
Good news is that the streets are quite a bit cleaner than they were.
We also have a brand new sign to help us stay safe when litter picking along Burnetts Lane.
